Event Summary

August 1, 2017 (Fremont, OH) – Terra State Community College has entered into an agreement with Fremont’s School of Hope to provide school lunches for the 2017-18 school year.  The college’s Dining Services will begin the service on August 29.

“We will be providing lunches for approximately twenty-six students,” according to John Bermudez, Manager of Dining Service for Terra State.  ”The school is part of the National School Lunch Program which has strict guidelines that we have to follow.”  In order to be a meal provider for the school, Terra State registered with the Ohio Department of Agriculture and passed the required inspection to meet their standards.

“We are providing a drop off service,” says Amber Sidoto, Dining Service Coordinator.  “We will prepare the lunches and deliver them to the School of Hope.  They will, in turn, handle all of the serving.”  The students can expect a wide range of offerings that includes pulled pork sandwiches, meatball subs, taco salads and chicken chunks, along with the standard favorites of pizza, hot dogs and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Terra State Dining Services can offer this service to a variety of other organizations.  Day care centers and nursing homes are just two that can experience the cost-effective service.  Organizations interested in information on how Terra State can serve them can contact Bermudez at 419.559.4113 or jbermudez01@terra.edu.
