Toyota Donation

Fremont, OH, March 3, 2018 - With assistance from Kasper Toyota of Sandusky, Terra State Community College Power Technologies program will now gain first-hand experience working on Toyota vehicles.  Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. of Cincinnati delivered a Corolla engine and transmission to the College on Tuesday, February 28 to better equip the program.

According to Adam Baker, Kasper Toyota was instrumental in making the donation possible.  “Their Master Technician, Darryl Longnecker, who is also an Adjunct Professor at Terra State, spoke to his service manager about helping out the Terra State program,” Baker says.  “We are able to gain access to training engines, transmissions, and other training tools.  Whenever possible, we like to share some of these resources with local community colleges to support the training needs for Toyota dealers such as Kasper.”

Dr. Cory Stine, Terra State Dean of Business, Humanities and Industrial Technologies, looks forward to seeing the equipment being used.  “This will be the first Toyota product in our labs.  The new retail value of the engine and transmission is $10,000.  We cannot thank Kasper Toyota and Toyota Motor Sales enough for their generosity in providing more opportunities for our automotive students.”
