Arts, Crafts and Hobbies offered in October by Terra State’s Kern Center

The Kern Center for Community and Industrial Development at Terra State Community College offers a variety of non-credit classes and seminars for individuals and businesses.

Here is the schedule for arts, crafts and hobby classed in October:

• Weaving Baskets with Wooden Bases – 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays for four sessions beginning Oct. 16. Instructor: Marty Willis. Fee: $60
• Ohio Archeology – 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays for four sessions beginning Oct. 3. Instructor: Matt Duncan. Fee: $59
• Beginning Sewing – 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays for three sessions beginning Oct. 30. Instructor: Richana Smith. Fee: $49
• Genealogy for Beginners – 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays for six sessions beginning Oct. 1. Instructor: Derek Davey. Fee: $79
• Stained Glass Panels – 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and 25. Instructor: Steve Noblet. Fee: $120, includes all project supplies and glass
• Concealed Weapon Permit Training – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 6 and 20; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 13. Instructors: Dennis VanWey and Joy Ferkel. Fee: $119
• Holiday Floral Design – 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays for four sessions beginning Oct. 3. Instructor: Mary Hill. Fee: $160, includes all floral and decorative material included for lab assignments
• Self Defense – Noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 26. Instructor: Chris Hofacker. Fee: $49
• Ballroom Dancing Level 1 – 5:30 to 7 p.m. Mondays for six sessions beginning Oct. 1. Instructors: Timothy and Annessia Nyman. Fee: $80 per couple
• Ballroom Dancing Level 2 – 7 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays for six sessions beginning Oct. 1. Instructors: Timothy and Annessia Nyman. Fee: $80 per couple
• Beginning Chip Carving – 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays for four sessions beginning Oct. 2. Instructor: Kent Cartwright. Fee: $79
• Intermediate Chip Carving – 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays for four sessions beginning Oct. 30. Instructor: Kent Cartwright. Fee: $79
• Beginning Pastels – 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays for four sessions beginning Sept. 29. Instructor: Elizabeth Dennings. Fee: $79
