The Associate of Arts and Associate of Science are transfer degrees that fulfill the requirements for completion of the first two years of a baccalaureate degree at most four-year colleges and universities.
The Associate of Arts transfer degree is appropriate for students who plan to transfer to a Bachelor of Arts or related program. Programs include:
The Associate of Science degree program is for students who plan to transfer to a Bachelor of Science or related program, including:
- Engineering
- Business
- Mathematics
- Natural sciences
- Pre-allied health
- Technology
Both the Associate of Arts and the Associate of Science degrees require a minimum of 60 semester credit hours for graduation. These hours are composed of general education courses, a minimum of 12 hours in an area of concentration and sufficient electives to complete the 60 hour requirement. The general education courses are in the areas of English, arts and humanities, mathematics, natural and physical sciences and the social and behavioral sciences. These courses also meet the requirements of the statewide transfer module.
