U.S. Department of Education Federal Grants

Students can apply for Federal Grants by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Eligibility will be determined by the U.S. Department of Education and the Terra State Financial Aid Office.

Federal Pell Grant

  • Awards for the academic year vary depending on financial need and enrollment status.
  • Pell Grant has a lifetime limit of 6 years at full time status. This is equivalent to 12 semesters or 600% Pell Grant used.
  • Available for four different enrollment levels:
Enrollment Status Credit Hours
Full time  12 or more
Three quarter time  9-11
Half time  6-8
Less than half time  1-5

 

Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

FSEOG is a grant for students with exceptional financial need. The FSEOG does not need to be repaid, expect under certain circumstances.

  • PELL Grant recipients with the lowest estimated family contribution (EFC) will be the first to get FSEOG.
  • You may receive up to $450/year depending on your need and the availability of funds.

State of Ohio Grants

The Ohio Board of Regents offers a variety of grants to help students with the cost of education. Criteria, eligibility, and awards will vary depending on which program a student is apply for. To learn about State of Ohio grants visit the Ohio Board of Regents website.
