Applying for a Certificate of Proficiency

Here are some things to keep in mind when applying for a certificate at Terra Community College:

  • If you are nearing the completion of a certificate of proficiency program, you’ll need to apply at least one semester prior to the term you anticipate finishing all the required courses.
  • The purpose of applying for a certificate is to initiate the audit of course requirements and to prepare the certificate and graduation materials.
  • The application for certificate of proficiency is available from the student records office or you can download and print onehere.
  • There is a $15 application fee. This fee is payable by cash, check or credit card. The fee covers the personnel cost of the certificate audit, the certificate and cover, mailing expenses and commencement expenses.
  • If you are applying for multiple certificates, you’ll need to fill out a form for each certificate. An additional $15 fee is required for each certificate.
  • Return the completed form(s) with the appropriate payment amount either directly to the Cashier’s Office or by mail.  You can mail your form and payment to:

The cashiers will credit your payment and forward the application to the student records office for processing.
