Student Graduation Rates

During fall quarter of 2007, a cohort group of new, full-time students was identified and tracked for three years. By the end of the third academic year, 13 percent of the cohort group had earned an associate degree or certificate from Terra Community College

In addition, 11 percent of those students transferred to other educational institutions. This transfer rate includes students who transferred to four-year colleges or universities after receiving their associate degree, as well as students who transferred prior to receiving their degree.

The four-year average of graduation rates for new, full-time students who enrolled at Terra Community College for the Fall Quarters 2004 - 2007 was 15 percent.

This graduation rate is not uncommon for community colleges because many students don't have the goal of earning an associate degree. Some students also start their degree program, leave because of family or work obligations and then return to finish their programs.
