What are the qualifications to live in the Landings at Terra Village?  

You must be a high school graduate and enrolled at Terra State Community College or in one of its affiliated programs. 

What does it cost to live in student housing? 

The Landings at Terra Village offer you different apartment options. Click here to see the floor plan for each option. 

  • 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath Studio Apartment - single occupancy $4160 per semester
  • 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath Studio Apartment - double occupancy $3260 per semester
  • 2 Bedroom, 1 Bath Apartment - $3860 per semester per resident
  • 2 Shared Bedrooms, 2 Baths Apartment - $3010 per semester per resident
  • 4 Private Bedrooms, 2 Baths Apartment - $3660 per semester per resident

What is included in the semester housing fee? 

Costs include a furnished apartment, utilities, cable, internet and access to a health care provider through the ProMedica OnDemand Service.

Do I have to purchase a meal plan to live in the Landings at Terra Village? 

In order to live in the Landings at Terra Village, residents must choose one of the four options for Terra Bucks:

  • $1140 Terra Bucks
  • $724 Terra Bucks
  • $516 Terra Bucks
  • $308 Terra Bucks

Amounts are per semester and Terra Bucks can be used at any retail or dining services on campus.

Do I have to know anyone to live in an apartment? 

You do not need to know someone to live in the Landings at Terra Village. We match you with other students who are also looking for roommates. It is a great way to meet people and make new friends.

Is my room guaranteed after I submit a housing application? 

There are a limited number of beds available. Your space in housing is only reserved after the Housing Office has received your application, approved the background check, received the $50 non-refundable fee, and received your housing agreement. The housing agreement becomes legally binding when the Housing Office receives your signed Housing Agreement and countersigns it. 

How do I pay my non-refundable fee with the housing application?  

Use the T number you received in your acceptance letter to establish your account at my.terra.edu under the account management tab. Then log into Banner-Self Service. If you prefer to pay via phone please call 419.559.2329 or in person by visiting Roy Klay Hall, Room 200. 

Will there be staff living in the building?  

Housing staff members will reside in the community, including a professional staff member and student resident assistants. These staff members will be available for after hour emergencies and provide activities throughout your residency. 

What are the dimensions of the bedrooms in each apartment?  

  • 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath Studio Apartment - 17x11 (187 square feet)
  • 2 Bedroom, 1 Bath Apartment - 12x9 (108 square feet)
  • 2 Shared Bedrooms, 2 Baths Apartment - 16x12 (192 square feet)
  • 4 Private Bedrooms, 2 Baths Apartment - 11x12 (132 square feet)

What security measures will be in place for you? 

You will use card access to enter into the building and apartment. You will have a key for your bedroom door too. Terra State Campus Safety will be patrolling the exterior of the community and will respond to any emergencies along with the building professional and student staff. 

Is cable and internet provided? 

You will be able to take advantage of wireless connections in every room and throughout the building. You will also have cable television access point in your living room, you will need to bring your own television.

Will the housing cost be covered by financial aid?  

If a student is attending Terra State Community College, any financial aid (i.e. grants, loans, scholarships, etc.) remaining after Terra State tuition and fees are paid will go toward paying the student housing cost. This cost will be reflected on the student’s Terra State bill. Any portion of the housing costs that is not paid by financial aid will be an out-of-pocket cost for the student. What do I need to bring for my apartment?  

While furniture and appliances are included, we recommend you bring the following items with them: shower curtain, liner, hooks, bath mat, towels & rags, toiletries, pots & pans, cooking utensils, plates, glasses & silverware, garbage can, small appliances (i.e. blender, toaster, etc.), television, and bed linens (twin).

What items are not permitted for my apartment? 

Candles (open flames) or incense, hot plates or open flames, flammable liquids, double sided tape, duct tape, sticky tac, contact paper, wallpaper, molly bolts, anchors, etc., paint, weapons, illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia, fireworks, grills (charcoal, electric, or gas), and torchiere lamps with halogen bulbs. 

Are pets allowed?  

Pets are prohibited except for a fish in a 10-gallon aquarium or smaller. Exceptions are made for service/emotional support animals. Please contact the Office of Disability Services at 419.559.2342 fir or more information if you will be bringing a service/emotional support animal with you. 

Why is a background check required?  

Safety is a top priority in our community. Results of the background check are thoroughly reviewed before a student is provided with a housing agreement. Applicants will be rejected for felonies, deferred adjudications for a felony, crime against persons, certain types of misdemeanor criminal convictions, and certain types of unclassified criminal convictions. 

What is the difference between “submitting a housing application” and “signing a housing agreement?”  

When you submit a housing application, you are informing the Student Housing Office that you are interested in living in the Landings at Terra Village. There is no official or binding agreement between you and Terra Village Holdings with just your application. Fees associated with your application are non-refundable and non-transferable. When you sign a housing agreement, you are signing a legally-binding contract to reside on campus for the full term of the agreement. Review housing contract very carefully with anyone you need to consult about your decision, such as your parent or guardian.

What are the benefits of living in the Landings at Terra Village?  

Research from the American Council on Education shows students who reside on campus:

  • Report a higher satisfaction with their college experience.
  • Are more likely to succeed in college and complete their degree.
  • Are more likely to achieve and maintain a higher grade point average (GPA).
  • Have a positive self-image, with enhanced self-confidence, public speaking ability and self-reliance.
  • Participate in more extracurricular activities (a factor especially important to recruiters in the job search process).

Other national studies show students who live on campus:

  • Develop relationships with a diverse population of people.
  • Are exposed to a wider range of ideas and cultures.
  • Develop stronger interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Are involved in campus leadership, organizations and activities.
  • Have more contact with faculty and staff members.
