Law Enforcement Degree Programs

Criminal Justice Degree

The Criminal Justice program is designed for students who are interested in the criminal justice field, but do not want to pursue the traditional roles of Police Officer or Sheriff’s Deputy. Graduates of the program will learn the technical skills needed to enter or advance in a wide variety of positions in the criminal justice field.

Basic Law Academy

The Basic Law Academy certificate prepares an individual to become a law enforcement officer in the state of Ohio. Academy standards are set by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission. Areas covered include, but are not limited to: administration, legal, human relations, firearms, driving, investigation, traffic, patrol, civil disorders, unarmed self-defense and first aid. After successful completion of both courses the student is eligible to take the state certification examination for a law enforcement officer. LAC 2031 and LAC 2041 (or LAC2032 and LAC2042) must be taken consecutively.
