Terra Success Stories
Success Story-Tracy Troxel Often a well-rounded education is more important to success than a specific major or degree. Just ask Tracy Troxel. His degree from Terra Community College is in non-destructive testing, but he now finds himself in banking. He would be the first to tell you that Terra prepared him well for anything. "My education from Terra provided me with the foundational building blocks of a solid knowledge base, which has helped me become successful in my career," he said. "Without the education I received at Terra, I do not know where I might be today. A proper education is essential in the economy of today regardless of the field a person is employed in." Tracy, who is a Retail Banking Officer for Fifth Third Bank in Fremont, is also a Senior Master Sergeant with the 180th Fighter Wing of the Ohio Air National Guard. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree, but remains grateful for his time at Terra. "I have told many people over the years that I received a much better education at Terra than I ever did at the four-year college I attended," he said. "The small class size, excellent instructors and outstanding facilities are simply an outstanding learning environment." Tracy continues to spread the word about Terra. "Terra can help others by doing exactly what Terra does well; providing a grade A educational experience for all," he said. "Terra is an institution that the citizens of Sandusky County should be extremely proud of." And, by being involved in the current major gifts campaign, Tracy is supporting Terra in a very concrete way. "I believe that all who pass through the doors of higher learning have a duty to those who pass after them to ensure they enhance the facility they attended," he said. "Terra Community College has opened doors for many people in this area, and I cannot think of a greater cause to support than Terra."
