DAVID VOELKER- 2002 Systems and Networking Support Graduate
When David Voelker was a sophomore at Clyde High School, he had his sights set on the Ohio Highway Patrol Academy in Columbus. |
But his father, a state trooper and post commander himself, saw David’s seemingly-natural ability with computers and gently urged him in another direction. Voelker enrolled in the Tech Prep program as a high school junior and by the time he graduated from Clyde in 2000, he was well on his way to a career in the information technology field.
Voelker graduated from Terra in 2002 with an Associate of Applied Business in Systems and Networking Support.
“Terra taught me the necessary technical and managerial skills to succeed in the job market,” he said.
He has been employed with the Old Fort Banking Company in the IT department for the past year and a half. He currently provides network support and is an e-banking representative.
He continued his education after Terra, earning a bachelor’s degree with dual majors in Management Information Systems and Information Technology from Franklin University.
Voelker’s advice for those who are considering a career in computers is simple.
“Work hard and it will pay off in the end,” he said.
UPDATE - FEBRUARY 5, 2005 The Old Fort Banking Company has announced the promotion of Dave Voelker to Network Administrator I. His job responsibilities will include: daily network administration, PC repair, installation of new products, patch management, network security, network documentation and e-Banking services. Congratulations to Dave! |
