Terra Success Story Alma Herrera
As it has for countless others in the past 36 years, The 1983 “I was the president of Phi Theta Kappa (the community college honorary) my last year at Terra,” said Herrera, who now lives in Herrera is currently in her second year teaching computer applications, computer programming, Internet Web page design, keyboarding, word processing and PowerPoint for Woodmore Local Schools. She will finish work on a master’s degree this summer. “By taking the accounting program at Terra, I was able to transfer to BGSU into the business education program,” Herrera said. “I will have a nice pay increase after I am done with my master’s degree.” She suggests that potential students take as many computer classes as possible. “Technology is the key to the future in any job,” she said.
