Terra Success Stories ![]()
One degree from Terra Community College wasn’t enough for Jason Conklin. After earning an Associate of Applied Science in Architectural/Construction Engineering in 1998, Jason returned to Terra to obtain a second degree in Business Management. But even after completing that associate degree in 2005, Jason wasn’t finished. He continued on, through the Tiffin University Fast Track program, and completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in Organizational Management and Accounting in 2007. Where has all of this education led him? Jason has recently opened his own business, The J. Conklin Company, which specializes in QuickBooks consulting and business support services. "The education I received from Terra and the contacts I made at Terra have always been a great resource for information," the 1995 Fremont Ross graduate said. Through the years, Jason has worked in a variety of industries, including construction, restaurant, healthcare and non-profit. He comes from a family of small business owners, so it was just a matter of time until he would count himself among them. His advice for those students in his field is simple. "Network, network, network," he said. "Build a great network of friends, family and other professionals across all disciplines. They will be your best source of education aside from your formal training." Jason was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honorary at Terra and the Delta Mu Delta International Honorary Society in Business Administration at Tiffin University. His wife, Jennifer, is the vocal music director at Eastwood Local Schools, and Jason has been a member of the Lindsey Volunteer Fire Department for 14 years.
