Engineering Design Major Current Program and Course Description Information:
Current College Catalog* Engineering Design Curriculum Students in the Engineering Design major learn to apply the principles of mathematics and physics to solve realworld design problems. Computers are also used extensively to aid in problem-solving and visualization. Traditional engineering courses such as Statics and Strength of Materials are blended with applied courses such as CAD and machining to develop both cognitive and psycho-motor skills. Many of the advanced courses are project-oriented and emphasize how to recognize and solve problems with a minimum amount of instructor intervention. This degree is designed for students who wish to transfer to a Mechanical Engineering Technology bachelor’s degree after completing their associate’s degree here at Terra. This ensures maximum transferability from Terra Community College to other colleges across the state. The faculty has identified the following Learning Outcomes for all graduates:
