Health Information Technology Graduates of the Health Information Technology program perform a variety of tasks that are constantly changing with their work environment. They are responsible for a variety of health information functions such as organizing, analyzing and technically evaluating health information; compiling various administrative and health statistics; coding diseases, operations and other procedures for research data bases; and reimbursement. These individuals may also maintain and use a variety of health information indices, special registries for researchers, computerized health data storage and retrieval systems, and control the use and release of health information.
