Associate of Arts
Associate of Science
The Associate of Arts and Associate of Science are transfer degrees that fulfill the requirements for completion of the first two years of a baccalaureate degree at most four-year colleges and universities.
The Associate of Arts degree is appropriate for students who plan to transfer to a Bachelor of Arts or related program. These include English, foreign language, history,
music, social sciences, psychology, K-12 education and fine arts.
The Associate of Science degree is appropriate for students who plan to transfer to a Bachelor of Science or related program. These include engineering, business, mathematics, natural sciences, pre-allied health, and technology.
Both the Associate of Arts and the Associate of Science degree require a minimum
of 60 semester credit hours for graduation. These hours are composed of general education courses, a minimum of 12 hours in an area of concentration, and sufficient electives to complete the
60 hour requirement. The General Education Courses are in the areas of English, arts and humanities, mathematics, natural and physical sciences, and the social and behavioral sciences. These courses also meet the requirements of the Statewide Transfer Module.
