Program of Study The Family Services Coordinator is principally an administrative position in a community action organization with oversight responsibilities for families and children. Services covered by this position might include medical, transportation and personnel, as well as, record keeping and interviewing clients to determine services needed and employees for the purpose of employment. The courses in this degree provide education encompassing both families, children, social issues and intervention strategies imbedded in the associate degree. The student may work toward the degree in steps by completing first the credential and then the certificate. The faculty has identified the following Learning Outcomes for all graduates: Possess a theoretical knowledge of stages of human growth and development and developmental domains with an emphasis on 0 to 8 years of age. Develop skills in operational procedures based on NAEYC guidelines useful in a variety of early childhood settings. Develop sociological knowledge and skills to work with children and families of diverse economic, cultural, social makeup and those dealing with a variety of exceptionalities. Demonstrate skills in program planning, evaluation, guidance of children, individually and in groups, preparing the environment and working in collaboration with others. Provide proof of Department of Human Services and Ohio Department of Education guidelines for working with children in the state of Ohio.
