Jeff Blanchard
A native of Northwest Ohio, Jeff Blanchard received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Bowling Green State University in 1975, studying trumpet under Edwin Betts. Mr. Blanchard’s teaching experience includes three years at Edgerton Local Schools as band and choir director and seven years of teaching music at Pike-Delta-York Local Schools. In 1976 he was selected as a brass coach with the American Youth Symphonic Band and Choir on their European Tour. Mr. Blanchard received his Masters Degree in Education from the University of Toledo in 1985. Currently, Jeff is a counselor at Vanguard Career Center and an adjunct professor of music at Terra State Community College where he teaches trumpet and French horn and directs the Terra Jazz Band and Brass Choir. He also is the lead trumpet player with Dana Dorsey and the Blue Notes, and has performed with a number of bands including the Johnny Knorr Orchestra, Jack Kennedy Orchestra, The Night Session Big Band, Terry Burke Orchestra, and the Jeff McDonald Swingmania Big Band. He has also arranged numerous compositions for brass and jazz groups.
