NURSING (LPN TO RN) Associate of Applied Science
Program of Study
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), who have an
active license and are in good professional standing, may apply for advanced
placement into the Nursing program. LPNs are required to complete the
program prerequisite courses and general education courses. Upon
completion of the program prerequisite courses with a grade of "C" or better,
the LPN may apply for admission to the Nursing program. BIO 1230, 1235,
1240, 1245, 1720, and 1725 must be completed prior to enrolling in NUR 1130 and
1135.
Upon successful completion of these courses with a
"C" or better, the LPN will be given credit for the following Nursing courses:
NUR 1010/1113/1115, Fundamentals of Nursing
NUR 1120, Nursing Concepts & Trends NUR 1140/1143/1145 Medical-Surgical Nursing I

POTENTIAL OCCUPATIONS:
Registered nurses work in a variety of settings which include
hospitals, Home Health Clinics, and extended-care facilities.
