Assignment 1 – To become familiar with your learning style
As an adult learner you are self directed to succeed. This module is designed to assist you along the path to a successful educational experience here at Terra Community College. The first step is to understand your Learning Style.
1. Go to www.engr.ncsu.edu/learningstyles/ilsweb.html and take the "Learning Style Inventory".
2. Print the results and materials of explanation for your own use.
Assignment 2 – To become familiar with potential educational stumbling blocks
1. To assist you in considering potential stumbling blocks for success. Please read at least six of the attached articles, choosing ones which you believe will be the most useful to your situation. MS Word Rich Text Format
2. Describe your reasons for wanting a college education in a short essay. Consider the challenges or fears you will face and need to overcome to succeed. What are your priorities? How will your lifestyle and that of those around you change while you are a student? How are you getting organized for success? Include in the essay information about your preferred learning style, goals, potential barriers and a list of steps you will need to take to reach your goals. Print a copy of the essay for yourself and email the essay to your instructor. |
