  2. Familiarize yourself with the college catalog.
  3. You are now ready to take a quiz.  Keep the materials that you have reviewed close by for reference.  Email the completed quiz to your instructor.  Open this assignment as either :

Assignment #2 - Learn about community and technical colleges in Ohio.

  1. The Ohio Association of Community Colleges provides college facts about the community and technical colleges in our state.  For a recent fall term, how many students were enrolled in credit programs at community and technical colleges in Ohio? Visit http://www.ohiocc.org/. Please email your answer to your instructor.

Assignment #3 - Create your two-year plan of study.

  1. Locate and print your majors curriculum sheet from the Terra website /academics/departments.asp.  Go to the site and click on the 2006-2007 college catalog.  Wait until the download is complete which may take several minutes even on a relatively fast computer.  On the left side of the page, click on applied degrees or transfer programs, whichever is appropriate for you.  Then scroll down until you find your program or major.  You may also use a hard copy of the catalog for this assignment.
  2. Identify the required and elective courses for your major, and all related prerequisites.
  3. List any additional developmental coursework you need to complete.  If you plan to attend Terra part-time, make any necessary adjustments to the curriculum.
  4. Meet with your academic advisor to review your two-year plan of study and to obtain his/her approval.  Your advisor will keep the original, and you will keep a copy. Send a  copy of the plan to your instructor.  Place in an envelope with your instructor's name on the outside or mail it to your instructor at the College.  To drop off, place the envelope in the drop box located outside of the print shop on the second floor of building B across from the TerraVue.  Be sure to keep your own copy.
