Know Your Library 

Welcome to the Know your Library module of orientation.  You will receive a series of general information modules about the library and its resources.  We hope that this series of modules will acquaint you to the skills you will need to effectively use our library resources. Although the modules will cover only eight specific topics, each topic is designed to introduce you to services available to you.

General Information:

• The modules build on each other. It is assumed you will complete the modules in the order listed below.

• When we ask you to do a database search, the exact words you should enter in the computer will be in italicized print.   For those students who are using screen readers you will need to turn on the following feature, identification of italicized words.  Please refer to your screen reader help files for assistance in turning on this feature.

• When an exercise requires you to try a database search, the number of records that the search retrieved will be indicated.  Keep in mind that these numbers may not match your number.  Databases are updated frequently, sometimes daily. 

• If you use AOL as your internet provider you will have to use different browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape after you access the internet to complete the exercises listed in the modules.
