After completing this module, the student will have a greater understanding of the academic resources offered to those
who may be struggling in a particular course.

Learning Objectives: 

  • The student will be able to identify the three sources of academic support offered to Terra students.
  • The student will understand the process of
    obtaining a peer tutor.
  • The student will establish an online tutoring account.
  • The student will understand the expectations for tutors
     and student learners.
  • The student will understand how to prepare for peer
    tutoring.

Activities/Assignments:

 

    • Review the Accessible "Terra's Academic Resources" PowerPoint presentation.
    • Open and Read "Rights and Responsibilities of Tutor and Student"
    • Open and Read "Preparing for Peer Tutoring"
    • You are now ready to take a quiz.  Keep the materials that you have reviewed close by for reference.  Email the completed quiz to your instructor.  Open this assignment: in MS Word (.doc) or as a Rich Text Format file (.rtf) file

    • Attend a SMARTHINKING information session after creating an individual user account.
       

      The review sessions will meet in Room B305, dates, times, are below:

      Please note that the first half-hour of each session will be the DISCOVER Module and second half-hour will be the SMARTHINKING Module.

      If you do not RSVP for a particular date, you are not guaranteed a seat.
