Introduction to Course:

Welcome to our new Music Appreciation course online.

This course is designed for you to explore music on both a cultural and historical level of importance.  Through the combined efforts of Terra State Community College and Connect for Education, you will be provided with the tools to develop your knowledge and understanding of the history, culture, and importance of music in society.

In order to begin this course, you must purchase the 2-CD set from the CollegeStore.  With these CD’s you will receive your registration number and account information to register as a student.  These CD’s contain listening examples, pictures, and additional information that you will use for assignments, readings, and quizzes.

The online orientation is located at www.connect4education.com/OnMusicOrientation.htm.

All students enrolled in MUS 1010 must register and begin the course no later than Friday, June 15.

It is imperative that you follow the assignments and quizzes by the class “dates” listed on the syllabus so that you do not fall behind in this course.

Some assignments must be turned in on or before the dates they are due or no credit will be given. (i.e. paper topics, outlines, works cited, etc.)
