Assignment 1 - Basic Skills Technology Module

This section will review commonly-used computer terms, by definition and/or activity if the term is a command.  You might encounter some of these terms when completing coursework assignments.  In Assignment 1 Basic Skills Technology, the student will:

 

• review terms such as mouse, drag, open, select, file, choose, double-click, download, upload, send, etc.
• identify the operating system, amount of memory, size of hard drive, and processor in the computer used for the course(s), as well as specific types of software on the computer.
• review commands such as save, copy, and find files and folders on floppy and hard drives.

Upon completion, the student will have

• reviewed terms that a distance learning instructor might use in a distance class assignment or discussion forum activity. 
• identified what type of processor, the operating system on your computer, how much RAM memory your computer has, and what web browser you are using.
• practiced executing basic commands that a student may need to use to complete a class assignment.
