Placement Assessment at Terra Because we care about your success, we ask you to complete an assessment of your reading, writing, and math skills as part of the enrollment process. Placement testing is not an entrance exam, and it is not pass/fail. We only use this information to gauge your current level of knowledge in these areas so you register for the classes that are best for you. Placement testing is required for all new degree-seeking students, and any student wishing to take a course with math or English prerequisites.Students may submit a copy of their ACT scores to the Admissions & Enrollment Services office for placement, provided the scores are from the past three years. Students who have disabilities or suspect they may require special accommodations when taking the COMPASS test should contact the Office of Disability Services and Academic Improvement at 419.559.2200 or by email at kwilliams@terra.edu. Students should make contact with this office at least three weeks prior to taking the COMPASS test. For more information about the questions you will be asked on the COMPASS test, click here.
