Open Door Admissions The college has an "open door" admission policy for residents of the State of Ohio. The college shall provide for admission of any person regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, handicap or disability. Terra extends educational opportunities to everyone with a high school diploma or the equivalent, and to non-high school graduates under certain conditions. It is the policy of Terra Community College that no person shall be subject to discrimination in whatever relationship with the college because of race, color, creed, national origin, religion, sex, age or disability. Extensive information on student-related policies and procedures is provided in the Student Handbook. The following policy statements are representative: • Terra Community College has adopted a smoke-free facility policy. Persons shall not be permitted to smoke within interior spaces of any facility owned or leased by the college. • The unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession or use of a controlled substance is prohibited on campus. • Firearms are not permitted on campus. Any exception must be reviewed by the Director of Educational and Student Support Services. • Harassment of any kind is not permitted at Terra Community College. Procedures for filing a harassment complaint may be found in the Student Handbook. • Information on Terra student completion and graduation rates, and on the incidence of campus crime, is available to prospective students through Student Services and in the Student Handbook.
