Text Box: This past month has flown by quickly. We can not believe September is over already. We have had a busy month. All of the children have adjusted nicely and are becoming familiar with the routine.
Your children are really enjoying the daily Buggy rides! During the buggy rides the children have been noticing changes occurring to the trees, especially the leaves. For this reason we have done numerous activities involving leaves and nature, like painting with leaves and pinecones. We have also made a nature collage using both glue and contact paper, and thrown leaves in the air to try and catch them as they are falling to the ground. Check out a few of the pieces hanging around our room.

Text Box: Recently the children have taken an interest in elephants. On a walk not long ago to the creek, the children saw “poo” and heard noises they thought were coming from elephants. This has Text Box: sparked numerous conversations on trying to catch and see elephants. To encourage this we have included safari hats, boots, nets and an elephant costume in the draText Box: matic play area. The children continue to hunt and catch elephants in the classroom. Currently our favorite chant is “Going on an elephant hunt” .

Text Box: Dear Families,

Five little leaves, so happy and free

Hung from a branch of a maple tree

The wind came whistling all around

One little leaf cam tumbling down
