Daily Routine & Environment Center Profile The Center is licensed by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to serve Children of and preschoolers ranging in age from 6 weeks to 5 years. The infant teacher to child ratio is 1:4; the toddler teacher to child ratio is 1:5; and the preschool teacher to child ratio is 1:9. Each classroom has two full-time teachers, part-time teachers and student assistants.
The Daily Routine The Center is open fiom 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The calendar year runs from September to early May following the Physical Environment
The architectural design of the Center was based on the belief that the physical space should be comfortable, home-like and aesthetically pleasing for all that occupy the area of roughly 6,000 square feet. The use of many windows to the outside and inside environments allow for the natural connection with the physical setting and the educational choices that inspire the center and its philosophy. The entire Center is situated on one floor and can be seen with a single sweep of the eyes once the visitor has passed through the entrance area, which is lined with panels of children's work. Each classroom is divided into different centers The furnishings are those enriched by elements seen in the residential sector to provide the most comfortable surroundings possible. The Outdoor Environment The campus of Terra Community College provides many outdoor areas to extend classroom experiences. The woods, blue bird trail, prairie and creek offer a wide range of biodiversity for the children to explore.
