Terra State Community College Announces the Appointment of Ryan Hicks as New Head Men's Basketball Coach
Terra State Community College is proud to announce the hiring of Mr. Ryan Hicks as the new Head Men's Basketball Coach. Coach Hicks, who served as the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Terra State this past season, brings a wealth of experience and local knowledge to his new role.
“The hiring of Coach Hicks brings stability to the program in a coach knowledgeable about the OCCAC and with ties to local high school and AAU teams. Familiarity with local athletes and coaches will allow for the development of a strong and competitive roster,” said Terra Athletic Director Lindi Cahill.
Coach Hicks has an impressive basketball background, having previously served as the Head Boys' Varsity Basketball Coach at his alma mater, Port Clinton High School. As a student at Port Clinton, he was a First Team All-Ohio player and led the team to the Division II State Championship Game in 2010. As a coach, he guided the school to back-to-back Division II Sectional Championship games.
A graduate of Defiance College, Coach Hicks earned his Bachelor of Arts degree and was also a member of the Men's Basketball Team. His dual experience as a player and coach provides him with a unique perspective that he brings to Terra State.
Coach Hicks expressed his enthusiasm about his new position, stating, "As the new Men's Basketball Coach at Terra State, I am excited to build a winning tradition that is reflected both on and off the court. Thank you to the hiring committee and school for this opportunity."
Terra State Community College is confident that Coach Hicks will lead the team to new heights and foster a culture of success, both academically and athletically. We congratulate Coach Hicks on his new role and eagerly anticipate the upcoming season.
