and their family.
College Credit Plus (CCP) allows students in grades 7-12 to earn college credit, while
also completing Terra State courses that count towards their high school graduation
requirements and potentially complete an associate degree as well.
Why should I take my classes at Terra State?
Accessible: Our course options are designed to match students’ and families’ busy
lifestyles. CCP student can take classes at Terra State while also continuing to be
involved in extracurriculars at their high school.
Successful: CCP students have a 95% success rate when taking courses while in high
school
Transferable: Our credits transfer easily to four-year colleges and universities in
Ohio and elsewhere
Pathways: Pathways are available to help students choose the courses that will get
them closer to their degree or certificate.
Terra State CCP Students can gain College Credit in Three Ways:
Terra State courses taught at our campus and/or online by our faculty
Terra State courses taught at their high school by our faculty
Terra State courses taught at their high school by high school teachers
Updated Enrollment Process for CCP Students
All new students participating in the College Credit Plus program are required to
submit a permission slip and mature content questionnaire to the college. The subject matter of a course enrolled in under the College Credit
Plus program may include mature subject matter or materials, including those of graphic,
explicit, violent, or sexual nature, that will not be modified based upon College
Credit Plus enrollee participation regardless of where course instruction occurs.

FAQs
What are the advantages of CCP?
CCP allows students to earn FREE college credit and allows students the potential
to earn a college degree in high school. Students experience college-level work with
additional layers of support from both the College and high school. Students who participate
in college access programs are proven to be more successful in college after high
school.
What are my first steps?
To learn more about CCP, attend a CCP information session offered by your high school.
Students can apply to Terra State, complete the CCP letter of intent, consent form
and send their transcripts to Terra State.
How much are books and is there transportation to and from Terra State?
Students enrolled in CCP and Early College programs may participate in the Follett ACCESS program through their designated high school, provided that the high school has opted in.
Books are covered through the CCP program at no additional cost. Transportation is
not provided to Terra State. Students and/or their parents are responsible for the
commute to campus.
Is there a limit to the number of classes I can take at Terra State?
Yes, this is determined by conversations with your guidance counselor and advisor
at Terra State. 30 credit hours per academic year is the maximum amount.
Does Terra State’s schedule follow my high school schedule? What if my high school
has a delay?
No, Terra State’s academic calendar is different. If your high school has a delay
or closing, you will need to check My.Terra to see if your class is canceled. It is
your responsibility to communicate with your professors. Please use caution when driving
in harsh road conditions!
What types of classes can I take?
Students can register for any Terra State course that will apply to a degree or certificate
program, if they meet the prerequisite requirements. Private lessons are excluded
from state funding. Students can take classes in the Fall, Spring or Summer semesters
and during the day, evening, weekend, and online.
Students must take their first 15 credit hours in CCP as Level One courses.
What is the suggested pathway at Terra State?
The suggested pathway is to earn a maximum of 30 credits per year.
Summer semester – 6 credits
Fall semester – 12 credits
Spring semester – 12 credits
Will my credits really transfer if I want to pursue a bachelor’s degree?
Anytime you take a course which is part of the Transfer Assurance Guide or Ohio Transfer 36, that course is guaranteed to transfer to another Ohio public institution. If you
are considering transferring to a private institution, we have many articulation agreements that layout the path for what credits from Terra State transfer to the other institution.
What if I have an IEP or 504 Plan?
Disability accommodations can be referenced from high school to Terra State to create
an academic performance plan. IEP or 504 must be self-disclosed during your admissions

How I can view what classes are offered at Terra State?
You can search all our classes through our online catalog. If you’d like to learn more information on what specific classes are required for
each degree or certificate, you can browse all our programs here.
What resources are available for CCP students?
As a Terra State student, you will have access to many resources, including our Academic
Service Center, tutoring (both online and in-person) and our academic and career advisors.
What happens if I withdraw from a CCP class at Terra State?
Withdrawing from a course after the course has started may affect the completion of
graduation requirements. You have two weeks from the day the class starts to withdraw
at no cost. CCP students must contact their Terra State advisor to drop a course.
What if I fail my class?
Failing a course may affect the completion of graduation requirements. The failure
becomes a permanent part of your college record, which could impact your future financial
aid eligibility. The cost of the class, books and fees may need to be paid to the
high school. This determination will be made by the high school. If the failing course
is a prerequisite to a future course, the failure will prevent enrollment into the
future course.
What are the risks of CCP?
High school GPA will be negatively impacted by poor grades at the college. College
GPA is permanent! If you perform poorly in a class, or classes, these cannot be removed
from your transcript. A low GPA may make it difficult for a student to be accepted
into some four year institutions. You may be financially responsible for your tuition/books
if you receive an “F” or withdraw after the withdraw date.
What GPA do I need to have to take CCP classes?
Students are required to maintain a college cumulative of 2.0. Students who do not
meet this GPA may be placed on academic probation for one semester and dismissed from
the program after two consecutive semesters of a cumulative GPA of less than 2.0.
If a student is dismissed from the program, they may petition for re-admission after
sitting out for one semester.
Do I apply to CCP every year?
No, a student does not need to complete a full CCP application but the school consent
form must be updated every year.
When do I need to see my CCP Program Coordinator?
You will need to arrange an appointment to see your CCP Program Coordinator every
semester to schedule classes, to add, change, or drop a class, or if you have questions,
concerns, or need advice. You will also need to see your CCP Program Coordinator if
your GPA drops below 2.0 or you fail a class.
What is FERPA?
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part
99) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law
applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S.
Department of Education.
FERPA gives parents certain rights with respect to their children's education records.
These rights transfer to the student when he or she reaches the age of 18 or attends
a school beyond the high school level. Students to whom the rights have transferred
are "eligible students."
As a CCP students, even below the age of 18, they are entitled to their educational
privacy and must sign off on parents/guardians to have access to their educational
record. In the eyes of the college/state, CCP students are considered adults.
