Terra Community College students are eligible to receive up to three hours per week, per class, of free peer tutoring for classes in which they are currently enrolled. Tutors can assist students with understanding their personal learning style, improving study skills and strategies, and gaining a better understanding of course material.
Tutoring F.A.Q.
Requesting a tutor:
- Complete the Tutor Request Form in the Terra Student Portal under the “My Forms” link. This process could take as little as 1 or as long as 5 days to complete.
- Log-in to my.terra.edu
- Click “Terra Student Portal.”
- Select “My Forms.”
- Click “Tutor Request Central;” a new window will open.
- Choose “New” to complete a new tutor request.
- Once a Tutor Request Form is completed, your instructor must approve the request. (It doesn't hurt to let your instructor know you have requested a tutor.)
- Within 3-5 days a potential tutor will then contact you to schedule an initial tutoring session.
Becoming a tutor:
- Applying to be a tutor is easy! You can do so by contacting Career Services at 419-559-2252 or stopping by the Career Services office in Building A, Room 200.
