Terra State suspends on-campus labs

COVID-19 Update

As developments with the COVID-19 public health crisis continue to evolve, Terra State Community College has decided to suspend all on-campus labs for the remainder of the semester. The College will be running classes online only beginning Monday, March 23.

“We are receiving an influx of questions and concerns from students and their parents about returning to campus for on-campus labs,” said Terra State Vice President of Academic Affairs Bill Taylor. “It was not an easy decision, but to ensure the safety of our students and faculty, we have decided to suspend on-campus labs for the remainder of the semester and allow those students to complete those labs in a four-week session during the summer.”

The labs already online will not change and students in those labs will finish by the end of the semester. This change is only for those students who have on-campus labs. Students will be contacted by their instructors for more details.

Effected students will receive a temporary incomplete on their grade report and will receive an additional four weeks to complete the lab(s). The Spring 2020 Dean’s List will not be released until after these students have completed the extra four weeks.

Students should continue to check their Terra State email and Canvas for further updates. Other details regarding COVID-19 are available at terra.edu/covid19.

“This is a difficult situation for everyone, but we are doing the best we can to deliver a quality education to all our students while also carefully monitoring and following CDC guidelines and mandates by Governor Mike DeWine and President Trump,” said Taylor.
