Scholarship and Student Loan Options Available To Terra State Students

Fremont, Ohio, January 25, 2019 – Terra State Community College, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE), has announced the availability of several financing and scholarship options for students pursuing careers in high demand fields.

The Short Term Certificate Scholarship Program allows students pursuing certificates in high demand fields to receive up to $1000 for their education. The following certifications qualify for the scholarship:

  • PC Technician
  • CAD/CAM
  • Power Technologies
  • IACAM
  • Manufacturing Foundation
  • Business Management
  • Industrial Maintenance
  • Welding
  • Power and Controls
  • PLC
  • Precision Machining/CNC
  • Introductory Electricity

The scholarship is available for current and new students for the Summer and Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters. Please contant the Financial Aid Office if you are interested in the scholarship at 419.559.2344 or financialaid@terra.edu. The priority deadline is March 1, 2019.

The Workforce Development Loan Program allows for welding and nursing students to take advantage of special financing made available. Through the program, students who have exhausted their grant and financial aid eligibility can apply for low interest loans payable once the degree is completed. Welding students can receive up to $10,000 and nursing students up to $8,000. Students can apply for the loans at the Terra State Financial Aid Office in Roy Klay Hall, A200 on the Fremont campus.
