Terra State Community College student Trent Carnahan has been named the College’s Rotary Student of the Month for February.

Carnahan lives in Fremont with his fiancé, Satina and two children, Kayden and Brantley

He previously graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 2014. Carnahan is also a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served for five years. Now at Terra State, he is taking classes to earn his degree in Digital Media Technology.

Carnahan said he chose Terra State because “I am local to the area and the College provided everything that I wanted for my degree. I really enjoy the small class sizes and enjoy the positive environment.”

Outside of class, Carnahan enjoys spending time with his fiancé and sons and volunteering his time. He does a lot of volunteer work serving meals to the elderly at Fremont VFW Post 2947 and Auxiliary. He also enjoys camping, hunting and playing video games.

His nominator, Academic and Career Advisor Elizabeth Logsdon, credits Carnahan for working hard. “Trent has been an amazing young man to work with! He had a rocky start academically straight out of high school, but he recognized he was not ready for college yet and joined the military, grew immensely as a person and when he returned he was ready to buckle down and be successful. Since returning, he has earned a position on the Dean’s list academically, become an active member at the local VFW, become a father to two children and is a mature, polite and hard-working student. Trent is a true pleasure to work with, and I am excited to watch him grow and see where his work ethic will take him after this chapter in his life,” said Logsdon.

“The experiences I will take after I leave Terra State is the dedication I have put towards my studies to be able to enter the workforce successfully after I graduate. I learned that you have to put 110% into all the work that you do,” said Carnahan.

After graduation in May of 2023, Carnahan wants to become a freelance designer and a moderator for larger account YouTube Channels.
