Terra College Foundation Honors Alumni, Scholarship Recipients and Donors
The Terra College Foundation honored 170 scholarship recipients, 29 alumni and donors at the annual Partners in Education banquet held Tuesday, April 19, at the Ronald L. Neeley Conference and Hospitality Center on the Terra State Community College campus.
Dr. Cory Stine, executive director of the Terra College Foundation, said, “On behalf of the Terra College Foundation, we are excited to have hosted another Partners in Education event. The Foundation is very grateful to all of our donors who continuously provide many opportunities for our community to receive an education. We appreciate all of our alumni, scholarship recipients and donors who attended this event.”
This past year, the Terra College Foundation provided $47,000 in equipment to the College’s academic programs, $190,000 in scholarship dollars that has assisted 265 students and during COVID-19 provided $50,000 in unrestricted support to the College.
“I’ve been a member of the Terra College Foundation for 16 years and this is by far the best event that we do. So many other places give out scholarships but the donor never meets their recipient and the recipient never gets the chance to meet and thank the donor. This is just another thing that makes Terra State Community College and the Terra College Foundation different. I hope the students have taken the time to thank their donors. Donors, we want to thank you for your donation. I hope each of you understands the impact you have on these students,” said Foundation Board Chair Tom Hoffman.
The Terra College Foundation has established 12 new funds during the 2021-22 academic year, including:
- Charles “Charlie” Eberhardt, III Memorial Scholarship Endowment
- Gerber Family Endowment Fund
- Grandad’s Clearworth Scholarship Endowment
- GUF Volleyball Success Fund
- Lawrence Hall HVAC-R Scholarship Fund
- Richard J. & Conceta M. Hoffman Memorial Scholarship Endowment
- Roy W. Klay Scholars Program
- Curtis A. Jackson Memorial Scholarship Endowment
- John R. Schumacher Memorial Scholarship
- Joseph N. Wasserman Memorial Fund
- Rudy Sattler & Bob Miller Memorial Scholarship Endowment
- Steve Mohr Scholarship
“Being the recipient of the Roy Klay scholarship has given me the opportunity to complete my Associates Arts Degree and begin my bachelor’s in special education. Without it, I could not become the teacher that I have always wanted to be. I am sincerely grateful to the Klay family for their donation to my education,” said student Haily Hill.
