Kalinowski, from Canal Winchester, Ohio, graduated in the top 10% from Canal Winchester High School in May of 2019. At Canal Winchester, Kalinowski was captain of the football team, a National Honor Society member and was a part of two leadership councils. Now at Terra State, he took classes to earn his Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing.

“I chose Terra State because the College offers the 1-2-1 Consortial Pathway between Terra State Community College and Heidelberg University. This program allows me to save money, time and still be able to play football at Heidelberg.”

Aside from classes, Kalinowski is a member of the Student Nursing Association and serves on the Nursing Advisory Committee. He is also the Football Captain and is an offensive lineman for Heidelberg University Football team. Kalinowski also serves the community by volunteering at the Seneca County Opportunity Center.

Meghan Rich nominated Kalinowski because he is a hard worker and dedicated and committed to both the Nursing program and extracurriculars. “I nominated Kalinowski because he does a wonderful job navigating his busy schedule and he represents Terra State’s Nursing program well. In addition to being a successful nursing student, Kalinowski is a successful football player at Heidelberg University. While it is difficult to be an athlete and be in the Nursing program, Kalinowski manages it successfully due to his dedication, maturity and commitment,” said Rich.

“I chose nursing because I have always dreamed of pursuing a job within the medical field. I eventually want to become a Nurse Practitioner who works with children. I love helping people and working with children, so this is my way of being able to do both,” said Kalinowski.

Kalinowski graduated in May of 2022 and will now take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and find a job as a Nurse Practitioner. He will then transfer to Heidelberg University to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
