Terra State Community College Expands and Updates Welding Lab Training Facility

Terra State Community College celebrated the expansion and renovation of its welding lab with a ribbon cutting event and facility tour with college leadership and area business leaders on April 14, 2023.
The more than $300,000 upgrade to the welding training facility exemplifies the College’s commitment to help train, support and strengthen the region’s workforce.
“Terra’s well-equipped welding lab is an important part of supporting classroom instruction with hands-on experience with the latest welding processes and equipment,” said Terra State President Ronald Schumacher. The updated lab includes 10 additional welding stations.
Terra State’s Technology and Skilled Trades program offers a welding degree as an area of specialization in its Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree program. The welding program provides instruction in a wide range of topics to graduate highly skilled welders who are educated in welding theory, processes, symbols and prints, codes and standards, metallurgy, mathematics, and science.
In addition to welding, Terra’s Technology and Skilled Trades program offers studies in construction technology, electricity, computer systems, manufacturing engineering, power technologies, HVACR, and robotics - integrated manufacturing technology.
