Terra State Titans Golf Team Qualifies for National Junior College Tournament

Terra State Community College is proud to announce that the school’s men’s golf team, in its first year of existence, qualified for the 2023 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DIII Men’s Golf Championship, which ran from June 6-9 at Chautauqua Golf Course in Chautauqua, New York. The Terra State Titans won the Regional 12 tournament in Battle Creek, Michigan, to advance to nationals.

The Terra State Titan community congratulates head golf coach Frank Gioffre and the members of the golf team as we recognize the group’s dedication and hard work throughout the season.

The Titans’ roster is made up of five golfers, including four from Sandusky Bay Conference schools and one from the Firelands Conference. Jacob St. Clair, from Oak Harbor, was the medalist at the Region 12 tournament. He shot a 26-over par 242 over three rounds at Bedford Valley Golf Club. Also part of the quintet is Margaretta’s Mike Wadsworth who was the third-place finisher at the regional tournament. The Titans golf roster includes Sam Whipple and Carson Whipple from New Riegel, plus Josh Myers from Ashland.

The athletics program at Terra State Community College provides students the opportunity to play sports at the college level while earning an associate’s degree, credits to transfer to a four-year university, or certificate in a skilled trades program.

The Terra State Athletics program includes both men’s and women’s teams across golf, baseball, basketball, softball, soccer, volleyball, bowling, and esports.
