December Rotary Student of the Month 2023

Terra State Community College student Christopher Hale has been named the College’s Rotary Student of the Month for December.

Hale lives in Fremont and graduated from Michigan Collegiate in 2014, where he served as student council president for his high school.

Hale chose Terra State because he wants to build a better life for himself and his family by attaining a college degree in Music Tech and Recording Arts. Hale has always been interested in writing music since he was a kid. So far, Hale has been able to get involved on campus. He serves as Treasurer for Student Government and is involved in campus music events.

Outside class, Hale likes to spend time exploring different music genres and styles and connecting and recording instruments. He also works the media booth for home sporting events. Hale, who recently released the new Titan fight song, makes up songs on the fly and performs them during halftimes at home basketball games.

His nominator, James Willis, Director of Music, regards Hale as an unwavering positive student that helps lift spirits in the classroom. “Chris consistently goes above and beyond in his music classes doing more than expected. Chris has been a bright spot in the program, and I am thankful to have him in my class.”

“An experience I will take away from Terra State will be gaining the ability to perform in front of large crowds. I am thankful for my strong support system, my mentor and my family and friends,” said Hale.

After graduation, Hale wants to pursue a career in producing and performing.
