Terra State Community College’s Associate Degree in Computer Information Systems Program is Validated by the NSA
Terra State Community College’s programs to educate and train the nation’s IT and cybersecurity workforce have been recognized by the National Security Agency (NSA) and a committee of academic peers.
Terra State is proud to announce that its Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Information Systems has earned a Program of Study Validation through academic year 2028 from the NSA.
“It’s rewarding to know that Terra’s work to prepare our students for the constantly evolving field of computer systems and the strength of our associate’s degree in the real world continues to be recognized,” said Haley Crabtree, an associate professor who oversees the Computer Systems degree program.
The NAS validation is part of the National Cyber Strategy 2018, which was established to address the need for professionals with cybersecurity skills. It highlights the importance of higher education as a solution to defending America’s cyberspace.
Terra State’s Technology and Skilled Trades program offers studies that lead to an associate degree in computer information systems or systems & Networking Support. The College’s program also offers a Networking Technician Certificate and a Personal Computer Technician Certificate.
Studies in the computer systems program at Terra are a blend of software, programming and hardware, providing a path to careers working in computer technology, networking, coding and cybersecurity.
In addition to its recent NAS validation, Terra State Community College was designated as a National Center of Excellence in Cyber Defense in 2017.
